ALL- I will make a stab at Strobe. We spoke a bit about a collaborative tune- maybe we can look at that subject too? (as in I have an idea!) I wanna pull DW Dunphy into this- as well as Mondo Quinn- via facebook. any comments on that- speak now jImiNy

I'll latch onto "Dominoes". That one's always been my favorite AA song for some reason.
You mentioned a collaborative tune. Would you e-mail soundfiles around to people and have them create tracks?

A collaborative tune would be very nice... if we manage to make it work (collaboration and tune)...

I'm considering a Portuguese version of "I remember you", and some other song (lyrics unchanged), just like I did in the 77's tribute.

I'll take a stab at "What's Your Name" and/or "Hide Away". If anyone wants either of those I'm fine with "relinquishing my dibs" 'cause, you know, like, I totally can't decide right now.

I been listening - and thought "This Band is our House " could make for a great collaborative tune. any thoughts on that- ?
Its sort of a loose jam -and I think I could kick start it. If no one else has objections-(and doesnt think I totally suck at mixing) - I would be honored to try to pull that tune together. I may flop like a fish... Dont wanna grab and go-let me know what ya'll think. Id certainly stab at it.
Like the portrait song-Id just lay down the basic scales- and pass it around. That worked last time quite well I thought.

I logged on to list "Songwork," and see that Wes chimed in for it. Is there a charter that demands no duplicates?
I recorded Songwork in 2000 for Gene's memorial at Echoes of Faith. It went onto Ping's No Outlet CD.
best, jeff

Jiminy, I'd be interested in throwing an acoustic guitar part on the collaboration track.

Me and my band will be doing "Stone". It's one of the most beautiful songs I think I've ever heard. You can hear the longing in every bit of that vocal. I won't be able to match it, I'm sure, but that's not what tributes are about, I suppose.

good. that will make jeff elbel record something new Touche', Larry. I'll defend myself just the teensiest bit (among friends), because I know this was tongue in cheek, but a lot of people seem to think I've hung it up. I'm making lots of new music, but 99% of my time is spent on music for other folks. It keeps me connected with the community, so that's usually a good thing. But heck yeah, I've got 3 projects I want out. So, okay, the important issue: I'll still offer Songwork to go onto the back end of the list in case people want to hear it as a supplement, but I'll claim a song Gene covered with the band. It enriched my life. Adam Again's "Inner City Blues" was my doorway into the music of Marvin Gaye. Ain't that peculiar? Thank you, Gene - over and over.

"my name is milk" told me last night that he wants to do "stone". Cool! ... I also want to use his version of relapse. I think there may be a bunch of duplicates on this thing... or like usual, people will claim a song and then never get it done Edit --- it looks like we already have 2 others doing Stone. We'll have to see how serious people are. I'll come up with a deadline for at least a rough draft or at least a very serious commitment so people know if songs are open or not. I haven't started pushing this thing yet, but I plan to by the end of the month. Work is too busy right now. It should be dead soon though...
